The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released an important update for candidates who appeared in the Tier-II examination of the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2025. As per the latest notice, candidates must submit their Option-cum-Preference for posts and departments through their candidate login on the official SSC website.

This process is a crucial step before the declaration of the final result. Candidates who have successfully appeared in the Tier-II examination are required to select their preferred posts and departments according to their interest and eligibility. The final allocation of posts will be done on the basis of merit as well as the preferences submitted by the candidates.

Important Dates for Option-cum-Preference Submission

  • Preference Submission Start: 09 March 2026 (06:00 PM)
  • Last Date to Submit Preferences: 12 March 2026 (06:00 PM)
  • Mode of Submission: Online through SSC Candidate Login

Candidates are advised to carefully select their preferences within the given time period. Once the submission window closes, the commission will not allow any further changes or submissions.

How to Submit SSC CGL Post Preferences

  1. Visit the official SSC website.
  2. Open the Candidate Login section.
  3. Login using your registration number and password.
  4. Open the Option-cum-Preference form available in the application tab.
  5. Select your preferred posts and departments in order of priority.
  6. Click the Submit button to confirm your final choices.

Important Instructions for Candidates

  • The option-cum-preference form can be modified only during the active submission period.
  • The last saved preference will be treated as the final submission.
  • Candidates must ensure they meet the physical and medical standards required for the selected posts.
  • PwBD candidates must select only those posts that are suitable for their disability category.
  • If a candidate does not submit their preference within the given time, they will not be considered for final post allocation.

Final Reminder

Candidates who fail to submit their post preferences within the stipulated time will not be included in the final merit list for post allocation. The commission will not entertain any request regarding preference submission after the deadline through email, fax or any other mode.
